One Way Traffic
Taken on a bridge crossing over the M6, in the distance you can see the turn off for the M55 junction.
The night was dry when i was shooting but had rained previously. The image is a composite of three separate images at different f-stop values to create the HDR.
Image was taken with my Canon 400D, 28-80mm with a focal length of 37mm and a tripod (naturally).
Had a really nice couple asking what i was doing and if I was taking anything in particular. I was happy to see that they were impressed with my efforts on the camera’s LCD.

Rain on the Lake
I wonderful scene that i saw coming back from a break at centre parcs a few months ago so i decided that I'd get up early one Sunday morning and take its photo.
Situated on the bank of Ullswater lake, its views are sublime. unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse that morning and you can see some rain spots on the image. It was initially in my reject pile but i think that these rain spots add to the atmosphere of the image.
Trip was taken with Karl Jenkins (Onedia Design).

Mirror Mirror on the Ball
Taken on Sunday 18th September which was a very windy day in Blackpool. I've always like the Giant Mirror Ball and I wanted to incorporate it into something and which my current obsession with multiplicity what better. Hope you like it, and thanks for looking.

Rolling Stick Gathers No Moss
This is one of my favourite photos from my Ingleton Falls walk on Saturday 10th September.
Most of the work done in the camera with this one, only some slight colour correction done in Aperture.

Self portraits?
Well its been a week or so since that I've actually gone out and taken some shots. So I'm getting an itchy trigger finger and feel the need to get a little creative
I've just listened to This Week in Photo (which is a really informative podcast for photography news) and listened to a interview with Frederick Van Johnson and Natalie "Miss Aniela" Dybisz. Its inspired me to try and use myself as a model for some challenging shots.
As an amature photographer that is a bit nervous about randomly taking photos of strangers, and I'm wanting desperately to expand my portfolio and skills away from just landscapes. Portrait photography seems to be the next natural progression.
As Natalie states in the interview, the trick is to stay away from cliche shots. This is something that I'm just going to have to get out of my system before I start getting more creative rather than just trying to skip the done to death self portraits. I'm a big believer of learning from your mistakes.
So this weeks challenge for myself is to get a shot that is striking enough and comfortable to share with you guys.

Day out round Blackpool town
Should be a lot of fun, greasy spoon (cafe) lunch and then on to Blackpool's Golden Mile - for those of you not in the know this is a stretch of Blackpool's promenade that is littered with attractions and amusement arcades.
So we should end up in a few arcades and those idiotic 2 pence machines where you insert your loose change and win...loose change, but its all for good humour.
Hopefully have some photos up later this evening.
